Ok, here's one of my cheap-outs. The jointer works great. Table is flat, fence
is flat. Three knives set with spring loading. To replace the knives, just insert
the knife and let the springs push it up against the included jig, and then tighten
down the locking nuts. It uses Freud replacement knives at $29 for the set of 3.
Motor is 1 hp and it all seems to work fine so far for me. The only possible drawback
is that the fence only tilts away from the knives which means you have to be a little
more careful when doing a bevel.
